AI Search Reporting for Agency Clients

Your clients need to understand their AI visibility. Gumshoe gives you the data, the formats, and the scheduling to make reporting consistent and credible, without manual effort every cycle.

The reporting challenge for AI visibility

Most agencies have well-established workflows for reporting on SEO rankings, paid media performance, and social engagement. AI visibility is different. There is no native analytics console for ChatGPT or Perplexity. There are no built-in impression metrics or click-through rates. Agencies that want to report on AI search performance have historically relied on manual spot-checks, asking a few questions in a few models and recording what comes back.

That approach breaks down quickly. It is inconsistent, time-consuming, and impossible to standardize across a client portfolio. It also makes trend analysis nearly impossible because the methodology changes with every check.

Gumshoe replaces that manual process with structured, repeatable reports that track visibility across 11 AI models using consistent personas and topics. The result is data you can confidently put in front of clients month after month.

Getting data out of Gumshoe

Agencies have different reporting workflows. Some build slide decks. Others maintain live dashboards. Some clients want raw data they can explore themselves. Gumshoe supports all of these approaches with multiple export options.

Export formats

  • CSV
Download visibility scores, brand rankings, citation sources, and competitive data as comma-separated files. Import directly into Google Sheets, Excel, or your reporting tool of choice.
  • JSON
Structured data export for teams that process report data programmatically or feed it into custom dashboards.
  • API
Read-only API access for integrating Gumshoe data into your existing reporting infrastructure. Pull visibility scores, competitive rankings, and citation data on demand.
  • Shareable links
Give clients direct access to the interactive report dashboard. They can explore scores by model, persona, and topic without needing their own Gumshoe account.

Most agencies use a combination of these options. Shareable links for clients who want to explore on their own, CSV exports for building monthly performance decks, and the API for agencies that have invested in centralized reporting platforms.

Scheduled monitoring and automated runs

Consistency is what makes reporting valuable over time. A single snapshot tells you where things stand today. A series of monthly snapshots tells you whether your strategy is working.

Gumshoe supports automated report scheduling on weekly, biweekly, or monthly cadences. Once configured, reports run automatically with the same personas, topics, and competitor sets. No one on your team needs to remember to trigger a run before the client call.

Scheduled runs are particularly valuable for agencies managing many clients. Instead of scrambling to pull data before each review meeting, you can set up cadences that align with your client meeting schedule and have fresh data ready in advance.

Using organizations for client access

Gumshoe's organization feature lets you manage access across your team and your clients. Organizations support admin and viewer roles, so you can give client stakeholders read access to their reports while keeping configuration and billing under your control.

This is useful for agencies that want to provide clients with direct dashboard access as part of a retainer. The client can log in, explore their visibility data, and review competitive rankings without needing to ask you for an update. Meanwhile, your team retains admin control over report configuration, scheduling, and billing.

For agencies managing a large number of brands, organizations provide natural segmentation. Each client's data stays isolated, and you can manage team member access on a per-organization basis.

Building client presentations from exported data

The most common agency workflow is pulling data from Gumshoe and incorporating it into a branded performance report or slide deck. CSV exports make this straightforward. Import the data into a spreadsheet, create charts showing visibility trends and competitive movement, and drop those visuals into your standard reporting template.

Key metrics to highlight in client presentations include overall visibility score trends, per-model visibility changes (especially in models the client's audience uses most), brand leaderboard position relative to named competitors, and citation source analysis showing which domains are earning AI references.

For agencies interested in deeper automation, the API enables building custom reporting pipelines that pull Gumshoe data directly into tools like Google Data Studio, Looker, or internal dashboards.

A note on what is and is not available

We believe in being straightforward about what Gumshoe does today. White-label reporting portals are not currently available. If you need a fully branded client portal, you will need to build that layer using the API and export options described above. Many agencies do exactly this, and we are happy to support those integrations.
